The illustrious Buick Regal has been around for decades, but it wasn’t until 2018 that we received a fastback version of the model: the Buick Regal Sportback. Introduced as the replacement for the Regal sedan, the Sportback features a liftback configuration that offers more utility than its predecessor. For 2020, you can expect to see the same luxurious features you’ve come to love on this reliable model.
The 2020 Buick Regal Sportback is available at five trims: Regal, Preferred, Essence, GS, and Avenir.

Exterior & Interior
You won’t notice any major changes on the exterior of the 2020 Buick Regal Sportback, but that doesn’t mean it’s lacking in quality or style. As the old adage states: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Standard on the base trim of the 2020 Regal Sportback are 17-inch wheels, halogen headlamps with flash-to-pass feature, heated outside mirrors, and LED taillamps. For a touch of extra style and flashiness, opt for the GS trim, which comes with larger 19-inch wheels or the Regal Sportback Avenir, which is equipped with fog lamps, a headlamp control leveling system, and wheels with a shiny Pearl Nickel finish.
Once inside, you’ll be surrounded by luxury and comfort in the Regal Sportback. You can expect standard features like dual-zone climate control, carpeted floor mats, an interior humidity sensor, and supremely soft cloth trim. However, for even more plushness, you can choose the mid-level Essence trim, which comes with leather-appointed, heated, eight-way power driver and front passenger seats; an in-vehicle air ionizer; a leather-wrapped steering wheel; ambient lighting; and remote start.
Technology
A vehicle today must be connected and up-to-date if it wants to be competitive. The 2020 Buick Regal Sportback ensures every driver can have all that and more. Standard on all models is 4G LTE Wi-Fi capability, the Buick Infotainment System with a 7-inch color touchscreen, OnStar and Buick Connected Services capability, a premium seven-speaker audio system, rear charging USB ports, a rear vision camera, Teen Driver, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Additional high-level features like SiriusXM radio, a larger 8-inch touchscreen, Active Noise Cancellation, and a Bose eight-speaker audio system can be had at upper trim levels.

Performance & Efficiency
All 2020 Regal Sportback models, except the GS, come with a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged engine under the hood paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Together, the powertrain can get 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The 2020 Buick Regal Sportback GS gets a thrilling 3.6-liter V6 and can produce up to 310 hp and 282 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy estimates sit at 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway for the 2.0-liter engine while the V6 is estimated to achieve 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
