New updates

Per GM Authority, the model will include a headrest on the third (middle) rear seatback on the Double Cab four-door configuration. It complements the truck’s other protective amenities, such as electronic traction and stability control, Front Collision Alert, Lane Change Alert, Low Tire Pressure Warning, back-up camera with guidelines, and six airbags.

The S10 will also include three more connectivity perks: remote engine start, engine shut-off, and door lock/unlock. Drivers can access these features via their smartphone. These extra features are a wise move on the brand’s part — the S10’s cabin technology is a major selling point for South American consumers. Fans of the truck have been drawn to the intuitive MyLink infotainment system, as well as OnStar, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

The S10 legacy in South America

The Chevy S10 has thrived in the South American market for the past decade. Per GM Authority, the 2020 version is the ninth model year of the current generation S10, and its fourth model year since the mid-cycle refresh. The Chevy S10 is assembled at Brazil’s GM Sao Jose dos Campos plant. The brand then distributes the models to the rest of the continent

A promising future

The S10 model’s handful of updates promise to satisfy the truck’s current customer base while attracting new fans. South Americans shopping for a powerful pickup with smart safety and cabin technologies, should definitely consider bringing home a 2020 Chevy S10.
