It’s been more than 15 years since the Ford Escort blessed the shores of the land of milk and honey, but the little car that could lives on elsewhere. Over in the Middle East, Ford has launched the new 2020 Escort, which now comes with all sorts of super cool features including power seats, Electronic Stability Control, and high intensity discharge headlamps.

“We are delighted to bring the Escort to the region – and we’re sure customers here are going to love the car’s unique blend of style, technology and safety features,” said Ford Middle East and Africa Chief Resident Engineer Ziyad Dallalah. “The all-new Escort underlines our commitment to continue listening to our valued customers in the region and evolve to meet their expectations.”

The 2020 Ford Escort is offered in three trim levels: Ambiente, Trend, and Titanium. At the top of the range, the Escort gets a taste of the luxurious with leather seats, ambient lighting, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The base level features four airbags, LED taillamps, aluminum door handles, and six-speaker audio.

Across the lineup, the Escort features a 125-horsepower 1.5-liter engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Ford expects that the Escort will be one of the most efficient cars in the segment.

The 2020 Ford Escort will also be ideal for the climate thanks to testing conducted last summer. Engineers ensured that the engine and climate control would hold up to the heat of the Middle East and that the vehicle would be ideally suited for driving comfort.
