If you’ve been clamoring for a highly capable, off-road-ready heavy-duty truck — and, really, who hasn’t — prick up your ears and take notice. The 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor is coming, and it’s going to the be the off-roadiest Super Duty to ever off-road off the road.

The Tremor Off-Road Package will be offered for the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims of the upcoming 2020 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty equipped with the monstrous 7.3-liter V8 or the third-gen 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel. It gets you 35-inch-diameter Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires — the biggest you’ll find on any heavy-duty truck anywhere — 18-inch matte-finished black wheels, a 2-inch front-end lift, and a shorter air dam.

The result: 10.8 inches of ground clearance; 33 inches of best-in-class water fording ability; and best-ever-for-a-Super-Duty approach and departure angles of 31.65 degrees and 24.51 degrees, respectively.

That ain’t all, though. With the 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor, you get a retuned rear stabilizer bar, progressive-rate springs, 1.7-inch piston twin tube dampers, a locking rear differential with electronic shift-on-the-fly engagement, a new Dana limited-slip front differential, off-road running boards, and FX4 skid plates. The Terrain Management System also offers a Tremor-unique Rock-Crawl Mode, and the package includes the Trail Control system introduced with the F-150 Raptor and Ranger.

“A growing number of Super Duty customers use their trucks for more than work. They’re fishing, camping, and towing boats on weekends and they go off-road, so we designed this truck specifically for them — more ground clearance, bigger shocks, bigger tires, and more off-road capability,” said Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager. “Tremor balances what customers demand in terms of work with what they need in the great outdoors.”

If you’re ready to party, the 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor will be ready to hit the trail later in the year when the 2020 F-Series hits the streets.
