After being upgraded to its second generation last year, the K900 reigns as the most luxurious sedan in the Kia lineup. With a starting MSRP of $59,900, you’re right to expect this vehicle to be well-appointed with high-quality materials. The 2020 model is a carryover from the previous year, with only a few minor design and safety updates.

What’s new for the 2020 Kia K900?

For 2020, the K900 and its single Luxury trim is now equipped with standard Highway Driving Assist — part of the Kia Drive Wise suite of Driver Assist Technology. On certain federal highways, the K900 will help maintain its position in the lane, change speeds when the limits vary, and adjust its cruising speed to match a vehicle detected ahead. On top of this, the previously included Surround View Monitor has undergone image enhancements to provide a clearer view of the K900 from above as you make low-speed maneuvers.

Aesthetically, you’ll no longer have the option of the blueish Lakestone exterior paint. The 2020 K900 can be had in one of four colors: Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Panthera Metal, and the newly added Silky Silver. Adding to the streamlined look of the K900 is the transfer of the AWD badging from the front fender of the vehicle to the rear deck lid.

Exterior

The sleek exterior styling of the Kia K900 is accented by finely crafted features like its ripple effect front grille, chrome door handles and accents, a power sunroof, and chrome exhaust tips. It is further enhanced by wheel dampeners, additional insulation, sound-absorbing glass, and a reinforced structure to create an exceptionally quiet ride. When it comes to functionality, the K900 is equipped with power-folding, heated, auto-dimming outside mirrors with LED turn signals; rain-sensing windshield wipers; a power-operated rear window sunshade; and LED lighting from front to back. The K900 is intelligent, too, thanks to Smart Welcome, which detects your Smart Key and illuminates the door pocket, and the Smart Power Trunk, which opens automatically when you stand behind the K900 with your Smart Key.

Interior

You’ll be enveloped in plush materials when you step inside the 2020 K900. Right from the start, you’ll feel the soft touch of Nappa leather seats and the refined wood grain trim on the steering wheel and dash. Combined with the heated and ventilated seating throughout, the three-zone automatic climate control will provide the perfect temperature no matter the weather outside. Ultimate comfort can be had for the front and back rows, as all seats are power-adjustable with lumbar support. Topping off the lavish feel of the interior is an analog clock designed specifically for the K900 by luxury watchmaker Maurice Lacroix.

Only the best tech from Kia is found within the 2020 K900. You’ll first notice the grand 12.3-inch touch-screen display connected with UVO Luxury Services, including Remote Engine Start/Stop, Remote Climate Control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. The Lexicon Logic 7 premium surround sound system with Clari-Fi music restoration will play your music beautifully throughout the K900’s 17 speakers. And when it comes time to power up devices, you’ll have access to wireless chargers in both the front and back along with two 12-volt power outlets and two USB charging ports. Rounding out the high-tech feel of this premium sedan is mood lighting inspired by the Pantone Color Institute, providing you with a total of 64 colors to choose from to create the perfect atmosphere in the cabin.

Performance and efficiency

Powering the 2020 K900 is a twin turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Combined, this powertrain can get a commanding 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the standard all-wheel drive system with an electronically controlled transfer case, the K900 can analyze road conditions and adjust power between the axles for maximum grip of the road. Fuel efficiency for city driving is estimated at 18 mpg while you can expect 25 mpg on the highway and 21 mpg combined with the recommended Premium fuel grade.

Safety

As previously mentioned, the K900 comes with the Kia Drive Wise safety systems, including the now-standard Highway Driving Assist. This comprehensive suite has additional helpful features to give you an extra set of eyes and will alert you when needed with the haptic steering wheel (if applicable). Some of these include Driver Attention Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control, and Blind Spot Collision Warning, to name a few. The entire list of standard safety features for the 2020 Kia K900 can be found on Kia’s website.
