2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Gets Official Pricing

The 2020 Ram 1500 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is defying industry and truck-lovers’ expectations with impressive torque and towing ratings. With the rating of 480 lb-ft of torque, it’s the highest half-ton diesel torque rating available. And its towing capacity of 12,560 pounds also ranks as the highest around. Its horsepower rating is 260. The cost to control this unparalleled towing capacity and responsive ride starts at $36,890. The destination fee is $1,695.

“The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel offers the best torque and towing among all half-ton diesel trucks,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand. “Now with a 10-year track record, the Ram brand has emerged as a truck powertrain technology leader. Overall, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel has outstanding pick-up truck capability and is truly in a class of its own.”

The MSRP of $36,890 plus destination charge applies to the 2020 Ram 1500 Tradesman Quad Cab 2WD while the Ram 1500 Classic EcoDiesel Crew Cab 4×2 model boasts a price tag of $39,140. The destination charge also applies to this model.

“The EcoDiesel is a $4,995 option, or $3,000 premium over the 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 eTorque ($3,300 on Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Rebel and Laramie base models),” reports FCA.

The improved fuel economy and thrilling driving performance of the EcoDiesel V6 in the 2020 Ram 1500 is due to design upgrades and engineering changes.

Some of its tweaks that improve fuel economy according to FCA include, “redesigned intake ports, redesigned high-pressure direct-injection fuel injector nozzles, redesigned aluminum-alloy pistons, new-generation brake system vacuum pump with low-friction blades, and optimized combustion chamber geometry.”
