2020 Ram HD One of the Best Redesigned Trucks for Next Year Says US News
Ram trucks never disappoint, and the 2020 Ram HD is sure to exceed expectations thanks to its redesign, powerful engine choices, intense capability, and responsive performance. That’s why the editors at U.S. News and World Report included the imposing truck on its list, “Future Trucks 2020: The Best New Pickup Trucks Arriving Next Year.”
“Ram has a history of powerful trucks that are known for towing, hauling, and performance. The Ram 2500 and 3500 HD take that reputation to an even higher level,” writes U.S. News & World Report Brian McHugh. “The new Ram features a high-strength steel frame that helps lower weight, offers greater capacities and gives high level of torsional rigidity.”
Engine options abound for the 2020 Ram HD models. The pairing of a six-speed automatic transmission to a turbodiesel engine generates 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. A rating of 410 and 429 lb-ft of torque is assigned to the standard 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission powertrain.
But, it’s the turbodiesel 6.7-liter inline-six engine paired to the six-speed automatic transmission that beats the competition, thanks to its rating of 1,000 lb-ft of torque. The engine earns a horsepower rating of 400.
The safety tech also sets the 2020 Ram HD apart.
“When it comes to safety, the Ram HD is no slouch. Selectable tire pressure, a 360-degree camera system, and automatic emergency braking all come standard,” notes McHugh.
