Across the pond, the 2020 Ford Escape goes by the name Kuga. The Kuga has at least one thing in common with its kin on the other side of the Atlantic: an affordable starting price point. Ford reveals that the new Ford Kuga will start as low as an on-the-road price of 23,995 pounds (roughly US$31,600) for the Kuga Zetec.
The Ford Kuga Zetec is loaded with useful must-have features like FordPass Connect, wireless charging, SYNC 3, and driver-assistive safety features like Pre-Collision Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane-Keeping Aid with Lane-Departure Warning. From that well-equipped base trim up, the Kuga Titanium starts at 27,245 pounds (approximately US$35,900), the Kuga ST-Line starts at 29,345 pounds (approximately US$38,600), the Kuga ST-Line X starts at 30,645 pounds (approximately US$40,300), and the range-topping Kuga Vignale starts at 31,945 pounds (approximately US$42,100).

Like the US-spec Escape, the Kuga is available as a plug-in hybrid. Ford is offering a Kuga Titanium First Edition plug-in hybrid that starts at 33,095 pounds (approximately US$43,600), which is the same price as the variant powered by the 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine. With all powertrains, the Kuga Titanium First Edition features a B&O premium audio system, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Sign Recognition.
“The all-new Ford Kuga is our first passenger vehicle to offer plug-in hybrid technology, alongside a full line-up of other options to give our customers a comprehensive engine choice,” said Lisa Brankin, passenger vehicle director, Ford of Britain. “Matched with a contemporary design, advanced technology, driver assistance and safety features, the all-new Kuga represents the best in one package.”
Ford is also offered First Edition variants for the Titanium, ST-Line, and ST-Line X, which add unique design elements, a sport suspension, and 12.3-inch digital information cluster.
