The popular Mercedes-Benz CLA compact sedan received a number of styling updates and will come with more available features for the 2017 model year.

The 2017 version of the CLA will wear a diamond radiator grille, redesigned bumpers, and new alloy-wheels will also be offered. A rearview camera has been added as a new standard feature and the interior will be aided by more upholstery options, as well as chrome-plated controls.

Under the hood, the new CLA will offer the same engine options as before. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The upper level AMG CLA45 model will feature a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder good for 375 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. According to Mercedes, the new AMG CLA45 will be able to rocket from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and can reach a top speed of 155 mph.

As for new technology, the 2017 CLA will be available with LED high performance headlights, automatic trunk opening technology, and the Active Brake Assist safety system, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The CLA will also be offered with the new Cavansite Blue Metallic exterior color option.

Mercedes-Benz still does not plan to bring the Shooting Brake version of the CLA to the United States. In addition, the European market will also see the debut of the CLA 220 4MATIC trim, which also will not be available in the US.

Americans will have the choice between the CLA250, CLA250 4MATIC, and AMG CLA45. The CLA250 is front-wheel drive only, while the CLA250 4MATIC and AMG CLA45 feature all-wheel drive systems.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA will make its American debut at the 2016 New York Auto Show and its scheduled to reach US dealerships in the fall.
