There are car fans, and then there are car fanatics. If you’re looking for the latter, and you’re interested in the Corvette, the internet is the place for you. More specifically, the CorvetteForums gathering.

Now, no matter what model of car you like to drive, there’s probably a fan group online for it. Editor Rebecca drives a Ford Focus, and she reports that even her ho-hum sedan has a forum (where they complain about their PowerShift transmissions). However, the CorvetteForums fans are a different group. CNET says that they not only gush about their own cars, but monitor Corvette prices to get a good deal and leak information about upcoming versions of the iconic vehicle.

Road Trip? There are a lot of fun things to do in Tacoma

A mid-engine Corvette has been speculated for a long time, and it’s finally on the way. The fans at CorvetteForums report that they have proof another mythical Corvette might be on the way – a hybrid version. A user posted a document that they got from a “guy that knows a guy” that supposedly lays out information about an eighth-generation Corvette (the current generation) with a hybrid powertrain. While the possibility of a hybrid and information about other unreleased powertrains on the sheet sparked discussion, the original poster never disclosed their source to prove its validity. If it’s a real spreadsheet screenshot, Chevrolet needs to tighten its document security.

Here It Is: Learn all about the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette

Besides digging deep for Corvette secrets, the team at CorvetteForums are keeping a sharp eye on Corvettes already on sale. Demand is driving the price higher than the MSRP, or manufacturer suggested price. To fight all-out price gouging, the site has been keeping a list of dealerships in the country that have the fairest Corvette policies and calling out those that require exorbitant deposits or high prices.

Online fan communities can be dicey things.* However, the CorvetteForums seem like they are fighting the good fight to learn all they can about their favorite car and protect drivers from losing their hard-earned cash.
