John Staluppi, who made the winning bid on the first 2020 Toyota GR Supra, finally took possession of his prize at the company’s headquarters in Plano, Texas.

Staluppi paid $2.1 million for the fifth-generation Supra back in January during a Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. Proceeds from the $2.1 million auction will go to the Bob Woodruff Foundation and American Heart Association.

His car, which Toyota calls “Global #1,” is the only one with a VIN ending in 20201, with “2020” representing the model year and “1” marking it as the very first new Supra to roll off the production line.

The Global #1 Supra boasts a matte gray exterior with red mirror caps and matte black wheels, and a red interior with carbon-fiber inserts. It’s the standard look for the Supra Launch Edition, of which Toyota is making only 1,500 copies.

In addition to the car, Staluppi received a Toyota racing suit and a signed photo from Akio Toyoda, president of the Toyota Motor Corporation. Toyoda also signed Staluppi’s Supra engine cover to commemorate the first Supra produced in 20 years.

Staluppi is a well-known car collector and owner of the Car of Dreams Museum, a private collection of classic vehicles in Palm Beach County, Florida. It features more than 80 sports cars, muscle cars, motorcycles, 1950s convertibles, and even a 1925 Model T custom candy truck. Staluppi sold his collection but has been rebuilding a new one, and the Supra is the first Toyota to make the cut.
