MDX, RDX, and TLX Fuel Acura’s February Sales
American Honda Motor’s Acura division sold a total of 12,992 vehicles last month, good for a 12.5% increase over February 2014 sales. As usual, that boost was primarily driven by the automaker’s SUV sales, which accounted for 8,415 units sold.
The Acura MDX earned the brand’s MVP award, with 4,553 total sales, enough to retain its title as America’s 3-row luxury sales leader. The RDX, meanwhile, earned the “Most Improved” award, moving 3,862 units for a 32.7% monthly increase.
Every Acura car saw a double digit percentage drop in monthly sales, save for the TLX mid-luxury sedan, which moved 3,419 units and carried Acura car sales to a 12.7% monthly increase.
“While bone-chilling winter weather takes its toll on much of the country, Acura sales continue to reflect a strong warming trend,” said Acura division senior vice president and general manager Mike Accavitti. “Our MDX and RDX luxury SUVs remain red hot—with refreshed 2016 models only adding fuel to the fire. And the substantially upgraded 2016 ILX sport sedan now in showrooms nationwide will burn brighter than ever.”
