Active Safety Tech Suite Added to List of Standard Features of 2020 Chevy Equinox
The Chevy Equinox, which is available at four trim levels, L, LS, LT, and Premier, is making 2020 safer than ever with a standard suite of advanced driver assist technologies.

“Finally, GM is no longer behind the curve when it comes to active safety features, as per the newfound equipment in the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. Active safety technology is becoming increasingly important to consumers, and certainly more of an expectation for newer vehicles,” reports GM Authority writer Jonathan Lopez.
Automatic Emergency Braking
This tech is designed to help you avoid a collision or at least minimize the impact by activating the brakes automatically.
Forward Collision Alert
This system monitors the vehicle in front of you, and warns you when you’re about to hit that vehicle. Three colored indicators, running from green to amber to red, will warn you of the danger.
Following Distance Indicator
This tech will remind you to not tailgate by monitoring your distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
Lane Keep Assist offers automatic steering support if it senses you leaving your lane and is complemented by the alerts from the Lane Departure Warning system.
Forward Automatic Braking
When your car is in the Forward/Drive gear, and the system senses an imminent frontal collision, it will activate the brakes automatically to help mitigate or avoid the accident.
IntelliBeam headlamps
In the presence of darkness and with the absence of traffic, this system will automatically switch on the Equinox’s high-beam headlamps.
