Audi Heads to Transylvania For Halloween
The spookiest day of the year is finally here. To celebrate Halloween, Audi decided to take a road trip to one of the scariest places in the world, Transylvania. Home of Dracula and the Transfăgărășan Highway, it’s the perfect place to cruise on a spooky fall evening.

The journey was teased by Audi USA on Twitter and Instagram last week, calling Transylvania the “most naturally scary place on Earth.” As Halloween weekend progressed, it was made clear that the Audi RS 7 would be the first brave vehicle taking on the land of ghosts and vampires. Once emerging from the creepy woods, it drove to Sighișoara, Romania, the real birthplace of the man who would become infamous as Dracula, Vlad the Impaler. The vehicle fit perfectly in the windy streets of this old world town, and surely the vehicle’s twin-turbo engine was useful for getting over the rough cobblestone streets.

After that adventure, a bright red Audi R8 takes over to speed along the Transfăgărășan Highway. At one point called the “best road in the world” by the hosts of Top Gear (notably the hard-to-please Jeremy Clarkson), the road is exhilarating but also very dangerous, with brake failure leading to some deathly accidents, especially in areas of the road with no guard rail and a sheer drop. Audi claims that the Audi R8 belongs on this chilling route, with its powerful Quattro technology and the ability to grip the road.
