The 1,200-horsepower tuning package
Located in Sealy, Texas, Hennessey is working on the HPE1200 C8 Corvette. This car will have a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine that’s twin-turbocharged. Currently, owners are sending applications to the performance shop that indicate the amount of interest the owners have in driving a 1,200-horsepower C8 Corvette.
The Hennessey package will come with a strong eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that is made to handle the mid-engine sports car’s additional power. The performance shop will also offer a supercharged package for the C8 Corvette that will let the car deliver about 700 horsepower.
Hennessey is also set to release carbon fiber aero enhancements along with different front air dams and a front splitter for the exterior. Other potential upgrades include changes to the brakes, tires, suspension, and wheels.
According to company founder John Hennessey, “We expect the new C8 Corvette to be an excellent platform from which our clients can further personalize their cars, which obviously includes adding more power and performance.”

Previously, Hennessey released a tuning package for the C7 Corvette ZR1, making more than 1,000 horsepower. The company did not offer this package until many months after Chevrolet unveiled the car, so it’s likely that the new 1,200-horsepower tuning package for the C8 Corvette won’t be available for some time.
