Cadillac Sales Up 4.6 Percent at Retail, 5.5 Percent Overall in June
Cadillac enjoyed a solid June month for sales, both at retail and overall. Retail sales for the brand were up 4.6% at a total of 13,490 units, and overall sales were up 5.5% at 14,262 units delivered. Through the first half of the year, Cadillac’s retail sales are down 9.9% at 65,590 units delivered, and overall sales are down 9.5% at 73,231 units.
Cadillac’s June growth is predicated on the success of a couple of very key vehicles. The 2017 XT5 in particular appears to be hitting its stride at the right time, accounting for 4,185 units in June. When combined with the 1,482 2016 SRX sales collected during the month, Cadillac is only slightly off the total number of SRXs sold in June 2015. Thus far, XT5 sales total 7,208 units. Retail sales for the XT5 totaled 3,844 units.
Sales of the CT6 also continued to grow, hitting 962 units overall and 755 units at retail in June. Since being introduced earlier this year, Cadillac has sold a total of 962 CT6s.
Cadillac’s other major movers in June were the Escalade and Escalade ESV. Sales of the Escalade were up 16.9% at 1,779 units, while sales of the Escalade ESV were up 19.1% at 1,181 units. Retail-wise, sales of the Escalade were up 21%. Through six months, the Escalade and Escalade ESV have seen sales gains of 5.6% and 2.4%, respectively.
Cadillac also points out that its average transaction price was $55,000 in June, making the brand tops in the luxury segment.
