Chevrolet had yet another monster month, posting its best February in seven years and climbing 3.8% year-over-year with 159,788 units sold in the United States. The biggest reasons for this, as you might expect, are trucks and SUVs.
Leading the way for Chevy, as ever, was the Silverado. Chevy’s full-size pickup was up 24% with 45,395 sales, good for its best February mark since 2007. The Silverado’s minute sibling, Colorado, added an impressive 6,563 sales to the mix. According to J.D. Power PIN data, the average Colorado has about a 15-day on-lot expectancy before it gets bought up, meaning it sells at least twice as fast as the average vehicle.
Also having big months were the Equinox with 31,723 sales; Cruze with 18,301 sales; Malibu with 13,971 units; Traverse with 9,705 sales; Impala with 9,065 sales; Tahoe with 7,410 sales; and Camaro with 6,373 sales.
The new Trax has another good showing in February, claiming 3,821 sales for its best-yet mark and brining its to-date sales total to 5,660 units.
Through two months, Chevrolet has 302,670 sales in the US, which is a 10.9% improvement over the 273,002 units sold through the first two months of 2014.
