First 1,000 Ford Mustangs Delivered in United Kingdom
Ford announced that more than 1,000 customers in the United Kingdom have received their long-awaited Mustangs, making them the first members of an ever-growing club.
Ford originally announced in 2013 that it was bringing the next-generation Ford Mustang to Europe in a right-hand drive configuration for the first time ever. Customers quickly lined up to be among the first to drive the Mustang, leading to preorders stacking up to a total of 2,000 by August of last year. To date, more than 3,500 orders have been placed.

Ford also announced that it is updating the available color palette for the Mustang to include the following colors: White Platinum, Grabber Blue, and Lightning Blue. As a result, Competition Orange, Deep Impact Blue, and Guard Grey are no longer available to order.
According to a study conducted approximately one year ago of the 1.1 million Mustangs configured by customers on Ford Europe websites, Race Red and Absolute Black were among the most popular colors. Deep Impact Blue was the third most popular color in Europe and the second most popular color in the UK, meaning that new customers will likely lean toward Grabber Blue in its place.
Since the launch of the sixth-generation model, the Mustang has been an almost incomprehensible success. Not only was it the best-selling sports coupe in the world last year, it also did the unthinkable in March when it reigned as the top-selling sports coupe in Germany.
“U.S. consumers have enjoyed interesting foreign sports cars for decades, so it was time for the Americans to return the favor with the worldwide launch of the new Mustang,” says Erich Merkle, Ford sales analyst. “Global markets have responded in a huge way. Ford Mustang was the only sports coupe in the world with more than 100,000 units registered last year.”
