Ford Motor Company has unveiled a totally revitalized commercial truck lineup, including a new Ford F-600 Super Duty that slots between the Ford F-550 and Ford F-650 to provide customers with greater versatility.

The arguable star of a wave of reveals made at The Work Truck Show in Indianapolis on Tuesday is the all-new Ford F-600 Super Duty Chassis Cab, which provides Class 6 capabilities in a more manageable Class 5 Super Duty body style. Bridging the gap between the Ford F-550 and F-650, the Ford F-600 Super Duty comes with three engine options: Ford’s all-new 7.3-liter gas V8, which was announced earlier this year for the Super Duty; the third-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel, and the 6.2-liter V8.

Additionally, Ford revealed the new and improved 2020 Ford Transit, 2021 F-650 and F-750 Medium Duty, 2021 E-Series cutaway and stripped chassis, and 2020 F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis. Every vehicle will receive built-in modems with 4G LTE Wi-Fi capabilities and be offered with Ford Telematics and Ford Data Services. The 2020 Ford Transit will offer standard driver-assist technologies through Ford Co-Pilot360, and elements of the safety suite will be available for the F-600, F-650 and F-750, E-Series, and F-53 and F-59.

“For 34 years, Ford has consistently sold more commercial vehicles every year than any other manufacturer because we listen to our customers then get to work developing the products and technologies they need,” said Mark Buzzell, Ford director of fleet, lease, and remarketing operations. “The updates we’re announcing today were driven by our customers’ focus on improving safety, reducing cost, and increasing uptime and productivity. Giving our customers the freshest lineup plus driver-assist technologies and connectivity is a great example of Ford delivering smart vehicles for a smart world.”

More details on capabilities will be forthcoming closer to launch. The 2020 Transit will be arriving this fall, the 2020 Ford F-600 Super Duty Chassis Cab is set to arrive in mid-2020, and production for the 2021 F-650 and F-750 is slated to kick off in January 2020.
