Ford Joins New Deal for Europe to Fight Climate Change
Mere days after the United States formally withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord at the behest of a sentient diaper, American automaker Ford stepped up its efforts to fight for a better future for generations to come. Ford Motor Company joins the New Deal for Europe, bringing it together with several businesses to develop a Sustainable Europe 2030 strategy.
Based on the United Nations Development Goals and the Paris Climate Accord, the Sustainable Europe 2030 strategy seeks to combat the very real issue of climate change while balancing socioeconomic factors with environmental ones. The New Deal for Europe and Sustainable Europe 2030 strategy are the creations of the Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Europe business network.

Among the 250 global executives and leaders to endorse the New Deal for Europe is Ford of Europe President Stuart Rowley.
“When businesses and governments introduce sustainability measures, they tend to put their own interests first. But climate change is an issue that affects us all, and it requires acting out of the interests of everyone. What better way to initiate that than by calling for widespread collaboration across industries, communities and borders, which can have the biggest impact and help us reach our sustainability goals together,” Rowley said.
Despite the inexplicable debate as to whether climate change even exists, Ford has laid out its intentions to fight the threat in whatever way it can. In addition to investing billions in the development of electrified and fully electric vehicle and in smart mobility solutions, Ford annually publishes a Sustainability Report that outlines its progress with eco-friendly goals. Currently, Ford is aiming to eliminate the use of single-use plastics by 2030 and use 100 percent sustainable energy by 2035. Last year, Ford hit its goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 30 percent a full eight years ahead of schedule.
