Ford and Lincoln represent two thirds of the field in the 2020 North American Utility of the Year semifinals thanks to the 2020 Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and Lincoln Corsair. Other vehicles up for the prize are the Audi e-tron, Cadillac XT6, Chevrolet Blazer, Honda Passport, Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, Subaru Outback, and Volvo V60 Cross Country. Given the spread, the odds are good that a Ford or Lincoln will be at least one of the finalists.
In the 2020 North America Truck of the Year semifinals, the new Ford Ranger finds itself up against the Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, Jeep Gladiator, and Ram HD. Three finalists will be selected from the field of five with the Ranger being the sole rep from the midsize segment.
Fifty auto journalists from the United States and Canada determined the dozen cars, dozen utility vehicles, and handful of trucks squaring off for the 2020 NACTOY awards. Following a three-day media drive in Ann Arbor that look place last week, the jurors will narrow down the fields to three per category with the finalists announced on Nov. 20 at the LA Auto Show.
With the 2020 North American International Auto Show moving from January to June, the announcement of the 2020 NACTOY Award winners is expected to take place sometime early next year.
