There’s nothing that gets you in the zone for your afternoon pump quite like a pair of noise-canceling headphones. They allow you to filter out the background noises and focus on nothing but your workout and the sweet sounds pouring into your ears (especially if it’s Barry Manilow, which is probably the best workout music there is).

Ford applies a somewhat similar logic to its new Mondeo Vignale, which features Active Noise Control and helps eliminate those unwanted road noises. Active Noise Control utilizes a trio of microphones placed strategically throughout the cabin to pump out sound waves that don’t obstruct your music or conversation but effectively cancel out noises from the outside.

“Whether listening to a favorite playlist, tuning into a much-loved station, or simply enjoying a respite from the demands of modern life, the experience of sound—and just as importantly silence—can be a fundamental part of an enjoyable car journey,” said Dr. Ralf Heinrichs, supervisor, Noise Vibration Harshness, Ford of Europe, “All‑new Mondeo Vignale with Active Noise Control offers drivers enhanced levels of comfort, and fewer distractions.”

Other features offered with the Ford Mondeo Vignale to enhance the auditory experience include acoustic glass that eliminates wind noise and a fine-tuned, 12-speaker Sony Audio System with a Class D DSP amplifier that features Speed Sensitive Volume Control.
