Because there’s no such thing as too much customization when it comes to pickups, Ford is now offering off-road leveling suspension kits for its Ranger and F-150 trucks. The aftermarket kits, offered through Ford Performance Parts, mark a new first for Ford and can be installed directly at a Ford dealer.

“Ford Performance Parts developed these kits to make the off-road experience even better for our Ranger and F-150 customers,” said Eric Cin, global director, Ford Vehicle Personalization and Accessories. “Truck customers are asking for options for increased capability and customization, and the new leveling suspension kits for Ranger and F-150 deliver on that need.”

Setting you back $1,495 MSRP before installation, the kits are specific to the 2019 Ford Ranger 4×4 and any current-generation (2015-2019) Ford F-150 4×4. For that, you get new optimized FOX shocks with improved cooling, front coilover springs with optimized rates, a 2-inch front lift, and upper front mounts that cut down on vibration and noise in the cabin even when the road (or lack thereof) is rough.

The results: the 2019 Ranger sees its approach and breakover angles increase 21 percent and 10 percent, respectively, and the F-150 gets a 22 percent increase in approach angle and 7 percent increase in breakover angle. That makes both trucks better for off-roading on rocky terrains while ensuring superior responsiveness. And because the Ranger and F-150 off-road leveling suspension kits are made by Ford Performance Parts, they’re covered by a limited warranty.

Ford recently announced a new FX2 Package for the 2019 Ranger that extends superior off-road ability to rear-wheel drive trucks. The Ranger and F-150 are also offered with a number of off-road friendly packages and features, including Trail Control offered through the Ranger FX4 Off-Road Package and 2019 F-150 Raptor.
