Ford Ranger Raptor Coming 2018

It’s been all quiet on the western front since Ford confirmed in September that it is bringing a high-performance Ranger Raptor to the masses sometime next year. It’s also been quiet on the eastern front. And the northern front. And the southern front. Really, it’s just been quiet everywhere.

But Australia’s Motoring has stepped in with a whisper of information that may as well be a bullhorn squelch for its silence-cutting quality. The publication has confirmed that the Ranger Raptor will make its world debut in February at the 39th Bangkok International Motor Show, where it is expected that the truck will be revealed to be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel.

But apart from that tasty little bit of intel, there’s nothing else known about the Ranger Raptor. So, again, we’re left to a void of yawning, aching silence and the thrumming beat of speculation as it beats against the walls of our skull. One of the biggest questions, of course, is whether it will be offered for enthusiasts in America.

There is a possibility, it would seem, that the 2019 Ford Ranger could bow next month in Detroit at the North America International Auto Show, and that the Ranger Raptor could follow shortly thereafter at the Chicago Auto Show. At least, that’s a kind of optimistic speculation that would significantly cut down on the time we spend wondering when, if, where, and why not.

Just tell yourself over and over that the Ford Ranger Raptor is coming, and that it’s almost certainly coming to America. Say it out loud every once in a while. Trust me, it’s good to break the silence.
