The Transformers and Ghostbusters are two of the largest and most influential franchises from the 1980s. If these two franchises joined forces, it would be a dream come true for many nostalgic fans.
Hasbro is now making that dream a reality with its Ecto-1 Transformers figure.

The robot in question is named “Ectotron,” and he can transform into the classic Ecto-1 vehicle that the Ghostbusters used during their paranormal pursuits. When in robot mode, Ectotron has his very own Proton Pack, just like the rest of the Ghostbusters crew.
Fans of the Ghostbusters franchise will also see a familiar face packaged alongside Ectotron. The limited-edition Transformer collectible comes with a non-transforming figure of Slimer, the green ghoul from the original Ghostbusters film.
The original Ecto-1 was a modified 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor model, which underwent an ambulance conversion. For the 2016 reboot film, the Ecto-1 was instead a 1984 Cadillac DeVille hearse, appropriate given the threats the Ghostbusters face from beyond the grave.
This special-edition figure, part of the Transformers Generations line, was revealed during this month’s New York Toy Fair.
Transformers enthusiasts will be able to transform this figure from robot mode to vehicle mode in just 22 steps. In vehicle form, the figure measures seven inches long.

The Ectotron figure won’t be available until June. When it does release, fans can purchase the collectible Transformers model online or in-store at GameStop for $40.
So, the next time that Optimus Prime and his fellow Autobots find themselves surrounded by either Decepticons or freaky ghosts, they’ll know just who to call!
