GM Receives Most Initial Quality Awards, Again
In this year’s Initial Quality Study℠ results, released yesterday by J.D. Power & Associates, General Motors achieved 11 spots in the top three. Of those 11 models, six were top-ranked. For the second consecutive year, GM took home more initial quality awards than any other automaker. In addition, the General had the most models ranked in the top three in their respective segments.

Success didn’t stop there for GM, however. GM’s Ingersoll, Canada, plant, which builds the Chevy Equinox and the GMC Terrain, received a Silver Plant Assembly Line Quality Award.
“We are committed to providing customers with the highest levels of safety, quality and an exceptional ownership experience,” said Alicia Boler-Davis, senior vice president GM Global Quality and Customer Experience. “Having the most award recipients of any automaker shows that we are on the right track by putting the customer front and center in everything we do.”

Chevy Winners
- Initial Quality Winners
o Malibu: Midsize Car
o Silverado HD: Large Heavy-Duty Pickup
o Suburban: Large SUV (tied with the Yukon)
- Top Three Winners
o Camaro: Second, Midsize Sporty Car
o Equinox: Second, Compact CUV
o Tahoe: Second, Large SUV
GMC Winners
- Initial Quality Winners
o Terrain: Compact SUV
o Yukon: Large SUV (tied with the Suburban)
- Top Three Winner
o Sierra HD: Second, Large Heavy-Duty Pickup
Cadillac Winner
- Top Three Winner
o Escalade: Second, Large Premium CUV
Buick Winner
- Initial Quality Winner
o Encore: Small SUV (tied with Kia Sportage and Nissan Juke)
