2018 GMC Terrain

GMC got a sizable sales bump in August with 12.4% total growth and 7% growth at retail. GMC delivered a total of 41,868 vehicles to retail customers and a total of 47,718 vehicles overall, with a great deal of that growth coming from double-digit year-over-year increases in Acadia and Terrain sales.

The all-new GMC Acadia led the brand in terms of growth for August at 55.7%. Acadia sales totaled 9,497 vehicles, up from 6,101 sales last August. Not far behind was the Terrain, led by sales of the all-new 2018 model; Terrain sales totaled 9,218 vehicles, up 53.5% year-over-year. Retail-wise, the Acadia saw its sales increase 36%, good for a 12th consecutive month of year-over-year growth and the nameplate’s best August ever. Terrain sales were up 66% at retail.

The GMC Sierra was once again the brand’s volume leader with 17,254 trucks sold, down just 1.3% year-over-year. At retail, Sierra light duty crew cab models were up 21%. Demand for the Savana van was also strong, increasing 169.9% with sales totaling 1,868 units.

Also of significant note for GMC in August was synching a year-to-date record for average transaction prices. Through August, GMC’s vehicles boast a retail ATP of $43,400, driven in large part by the continued popularity of Denali models throughout the lineup.

After eight months, GMC’s sales total 358,305 vehicles, up 2.9% year-to-date. Retail sales are down 2% at a total of 300,604 vehicles. To date, sales of the Acadia are up 45.4% at 75,214 vehicles, and the Savana is up 60.6% at 20,703 vehicles.
