Here Comes the All-New 2020 Hyundai Palisade
Hyundai will unveil its all-new 2020 Palisade SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week.
According to Hyundai, the Palisade will serve as the automaker’s flagship SUV. In a clear appeal to family transportation needs, it will seat up to eight passengers while providing plenty of flexible space for cargo. Hyundai also says the Palisade will be designed with a bold exterior and feature an array of high-tech active safety features.
Per Hyundai, the new Palisade will be available in the U.S. starting next summer.
With the Palisade, Hyundai will gain a traditional full-size SUV to fill one of the few remaining holes in its lineup. Currently, the largest vehicle that Hyundai offers is the 2019 Santa Fe XL, a crossover that can seat up to seven people.

Judging by the language Hyundai used in its news release, the Palisade will be a fairly upscale vehicle. The automaker specifically references the Pacific Palisades — clearly nudging customers to associate the new SUV with the wealthy and strikingly attractive Southern California neighborhood located on the Pacific coast.
According to Zillow, the median home price in the Pacific Palisades is $3.1 million, so hopefully Hyundai won’t take the comparison too far.
While the name “Palisade” does conjure up relaxing visions of seaside affluence, Hyundai isn’t giving out any actual information about its new family hauler just yet. Expect that to change once the LA Auto Show gets underway Nov. 28.
