Honda Wins 2017 Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy Awards for Pilot, Ridgeline, and HR-V
We’re starting to get into awards season, and Honda looks to be a major contender, with several popular new models out this year that are already beginning to garner attention.
Today, in fact, Honda racked up three 2017 Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy Awards. The all-new 2017 Ridgeline was recognized as the best compact pickup truck, the updated 2017 Pilot earned the best midsize crossover/SUV award, and the 2017 HR-V took the trophy for best subcompact crossover/SUV category.
“The new Ridgeline offers the best comfort, convenience, and on-road driving dynamics of any small pickup, along with a compelling array of clever technology and utility features,” Consumer Guide editors said of the new Ridgeline.
However, reviewers did criticize the fact that it is only available in one body style and drivetrain.
The Pilot, meanwhile, earned plaudits for boasting “an impressive selection of available comfort and safety features, a nicely finished cabin with outstanding passenger/cargo capacity, and excellent driving manners and fuel efficiency for a vehicle its size.”
The third Honda to make the grade, the HR-V, “packs excellent cargo room and decent passenger space into a pint-sized package, and it strikes a nice balance between lively handling and a comfortable ride,” according to Consumer Guide.
To qualify for a Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy Award, a vehicle must achieve objectively high ratings, while also distinguishing itself as a good dollar value.
