San Diego Comic-Con is the Comic-Con, started way back in 1970 to eventually become a massive event with tens of thousands of people. So, when Hyundai decided it wanted to celebrate Comic-Con, the automaker knew it couldn’t just trot out its normal lineup (even if the Veloster was in the Ant-Man movie). Instead, it unveiled a new special Kona Iron Man Edition for Comic-Con opening day.

The Kona Iron Man Edition model got special elements both outside and inside harkening back to Iron Man.

Outside, this mostly meant a specialized paint job, which gave the body a gun-metal gray color with deep red accent bevels around the lights, bottom body lip, side skirt, and on the hood. The roof is dominated by red with a special Iron Man helmet decal, and the wheels feature red accents, red lug nut caps, and an Iron Man cap in the center.

The unique features are in the details. There is a new front fascia design with a custom daytime running light form to make the lights more reminiscent of the Iron Man facemask, and a V-shaped hood garnish. Additional details include rear fender Stark Industries decals, Iron Man engravings on the D pillars, and Iron Man engraving on the headlamp internal surfaces.

Inside, the trim is all in the same sort of gun-metal gray, with red bezels around the controls and vents and a nice head-up display above the steering wheel. Tony Stark’s signature adorns the instrument panel along with a unique Iron Man shift lever knob, Iron Man graphics on the center stack, and a custom seat design.
