The 2019 Veloster Turbo is the latest Hyundai vehicle to be honored with a Car and Driver Editors’ Choice award.

The editors of Car and Driver were especially impressed by the Veloster Turbo’s performance, praising its responsive steering, tuned multi-link suspension, and stiff body structure. The Veloster Turbo delivers plenty of power to go along with its nimble handling, featuring a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.

Car and Driver also liked the value provided by the Veloster Turbo, which offers features like Infinity premium audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a proximity key with push button start, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Veloster Turbo’s redesign, with a new shape and face to go along with its quirky three-door configuration, gained some positive attention from the magazine as well.

“With an expressive design and cutting-edge infotainment features, the Veloster Turbo continues to underscore outstanding value and performance for our customers,” said Scott Margason, director of product planning for Hyundai Motor America. “It is an honor to be named a Top Pick by Car and Driver and another proof point of Hyundai’s commitment to excellence.”

Every year, Car and Driver’s Editors’ Choice awards single out the best vehicles in each segment. To get to that point, the magazine conducts in-depth testing based on criteria like value, performance, and design.

This year, Hyundai has shown up frequently on Editors’ Choice lists, with recognitions for the Kona, Accent, and Ioniq preceding the Veloster Turbo.
