Earlier this year, GMC released its “Anthem” television spot, which featured pickup truck owners abandoning their old tailgates in favor of the Sierra’s MultiPro Tailgate. The ad quickly became a hit, as iSpotTV named it the most-viewed car commercial at the time.
GMC is now ready to release the next ad in its “Step Up Like a Pro” campaign with the “Jaw Drop” television spot.
A Closer Look at the MultiPro Tailgate: GMC Sierra MultiPro Tailgate
The jaw drops in this commercial are both metaphorical and literal. During the advertisement, the GMC Sierra 1500 shows off its MultiPro Tailgate, causing the jaws of onlookers to drop in astonishment.
At the same time, the tailgates of nearby trucks also drop. Like in the previous ad, a version of the hit song “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” by Steam is heard.
You can view the new ad down below:
Obviously, the focus of these ads is the Sierra’s MultiPro Tailgate. Said tailgate features six separate functions for pickup drivers to utilize. The configurations include:
- Primary gate
- Primary gate load stop
- Easy access
- Full-width step
- Inner gate load stop
- Inner gate with work surface
Even More Pickups: GM Trucks
This tailgate currently comes standard with the Sierra’s SLT, AT4, and Denali trims. As it is a unique feature that is currently exclusive to the GMC Sierra, it will likely continue to be a focal point in advertising for the Sierra line for the time being. As long as the GMC ads continue to be entertaining, audiences likely won’t have a problem with that marketing strategy.
