Kia Niro and Soul EV Are Both Worth the Wait
We’ve been covering a lot of news about electric cars recently, and that’s because we are on the verge of a huge boom in the market of EVs coming from just about every brand imaginable. With this influx of EVs, it’s getting hard to find which one is right for you simply because you have more options than ever, but Forbes released a list of 2019 and 2020 EVs that are worth waiting for and two Kia cars made the cut.
It’s not hard to imagine the excitement surround the 2020 Kia Niro EV and 2020 Kia Soul EV. The Niro is Kia’s answer to Hyundai’s Kona Electric, but the Niro offers a bit more refinement than the Kona does. It also feels more futuristic than other EVs, which struggle to look and feel like “normal” cars to appeal to buyers who aren’t quite convinced by EVs yet.
While the outside of this year’s Niro EV appears normal, the floating center console with glowing red rings around the transmission knob and sci-fi generated engine sounds at low speeds makes the Niro stand out compared to other EVs.
The Kia Soul EV is almost like a funky older sibling to the Niro, as both utilize similar technologies and batteries that Kia is constantly developing. The 2020 Soul’s 64kWh battery shoots its range beyond the 200 mile mark, though we don’t have a number for sure. Right now, the Soul EV has around a 150-mile range, so the 2020 version will be a vast improvement.
Despite the fact that Kia is not solely dedicated to EVs like Tesla, two of its EVs have appeared on the list of electric cars to wait for, so Kia is obviously doing something right.
