Kia Reveals Name of Chicago Auto Show Concept
At the end of last month, Kia announced that it would be unveiling an electric all-wheel drive (e-AWD) concept vehicle on February 12th at the Chicago Auto Show. The brand also gave us this teaser image of the vehicle’s front end:
That’s about all they gave us though, as even the off-roader’s name was kept under wraps at the time. Well today the automaker at least provided us with that detail: the new electric Kia concept will be called the “Trail’ster.” Yep, that’s what they’re going with, apostrophe and all.
It joins the 2012 Track’ster and 2009 Soul’ster as the latest si’ster vehicle in the family of questionably named Kia concepts. In addition to the name reveal, Kia also released a new teaser image of the soon-to-be-revealed concept:
“Aligning form and function to conceive a uniquely compelling vehicle for the city-dweller-turned- outdoor-adventurer, Kia Motors America will take the wraps off the rugged Trail’ster e-AWD concept at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show,” the automaker confirmed in a statement. “With its bold design, fully retractable canvas roof and smartly integrated rear electric all-wheel drive system, the turbocharged Trail’ster takes Kia’s iconic Soul to a new level of expression, efficiency and capability.”
The Kia Trail’ster concept will be unveiled in Chicago at 9:00 am on February 12th, and we’ll be on hand to cover the debut.
