Millions of GMC, Chevy, Cadillac, and Buick Vehicles Eligible to Receive Amazon Deliveries
If you own a General Motors vehicle and are an Amazon Prime member, you might be in luck. Amazon Key In-Car Delivery is now available for 7 million Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac owners across the United States who also have an active OnStar account.
“Prime members now have another way to ensure their packages are safe and secure — all for no additional cost,” said Peter Larsen, Amazon’s vice president of Delivery Technology.
To use the service, you need a 2015 or newer vehicle. So far, it’s available in 37 cities and their surrounding areas, and more areas will be added soon. You can check your eligibility here.
“Partnering with Amazon to leverage our embedded in-vehicle connectivity gives Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac owners the option to conveniently receive deliveries inside their vehicle parked at home, work, or near other locations in their Amazon address book,” said Alan Batey, president of General Motors North America.
It’s a Date: Fun, romantic outings for car lovers
Here’s how it works. First, download the Amazon Key App and link your OnStar and Amazon accounts. You’ll also need to register your desired delivery location (and you can add more whenever you like). Then, just select the “In-Car” delivery option when you check out.
With Amazon Key, packages can be delivered to vehicles parked in publicly accessible areas, like your driveway, street parking space, or workplace parking lot. In addition to notifying you when your delivery is en route, the Amazon Key App will also alert you that your package has arrived and your vehicle has been relocked.
