Middle Tennessee recently had a tornado outbreak, which was devastating to many in the area. As such, Mitsubishi has decided to help Nashville residents by giving a 2020 Outlander PHEV to the city’s Community Resource Center.

How Mitsubishi is aiding Nashville residents
The 2020 Outlander PHEV has a spacious interior that can allow the CRC staff as well as volunteers to transport essential supplies to nonprofit organizations and families in need. The fuel-efficient SUV can run on all-electric power for up to 22 miles and then get power from a 2.0-liter gasoline engine when needed.
Community Resource Center Executive Director Tina Doniger said, “This vehicle will allow us to respond to urgent needs more quickly and more efficiently. The ultimate goal is to help Nashville through COVID-19, to resume tornado recovery efforts and to be stronger for the future.”

The headquarters for Mitsubishi Motors North America is located in Franklin, Tennessee, and its staff has had to deal with both the coronavirus pandemic and the tornado crises. Accordingly, the automaker is proud to support the CRC as it assists those in the Middle Tennessee community.
The CRC provides household goods, kitchenware, clothing, cleaning supplies, bedding, and personal hygiene items to over 100 nonprofit agencies within Middle Tennessee. As a result of the pandemic, the center is also preparing emergency supplies kits for no-contact or low-contact pickups.
CRC partner agencies are comprised of a diverse group of clients, including disadvantaged seniors, at-risk children, domestic violence victims, the homeless, refugees, and individuals with physical and mental challenges.
Upcoming Innovations: New Mitsubishi in-vehicle apps could be on the way
Mitsubishi donated a vehicle to the CRC as part of the automaker’s “Small Batch – Big Impact” initiative. The automaker has previously donated vehicles to Record the Journey in Texas and the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation in Nevada, and it seems likely that Mitsubishi will continue to help charities going forward.
