Sales of the XPANDER CROSS
In Indonesia and other ASEAN markets, there was a high demand for the XPANDER series in 2019. As a result, the manufacturer for the XPANDER CROSS, Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia, grew the whole production capacity up to 220,000 units last year.
By the end of this past February, MMKI exported 100,000 units of the XPANDER, and Mitsubishi sold about 250,000 units of both the XPANDER and the XPANDER CROSS. Indonesia has seen an improvement in its economy and employment, thanks to MMKI, which is located in Bekasi, Indonesia.
Overview of the crossover
The XPANDER CROSS sits at the top of the XPANDER lineup. The rugged crossover is ideal for drivers in ASEAN markets wanting a family hauler that combines practicality with style. The exterior features 17-inch alloy wheels, a large skid plate, and roof rails, as well as front fog lamps with LED lights for better visibility.
The multi-purpose vehicle’s comfortable cabin can seat up to seven people inside the best-in-class interior space. The 60/40-split second row and 50/50-split third row also enable you to adjust the cabin to fit lots of cargo. Plus, sound-absorbing material helps keeps the interior quiet so you can carry on conversations with ease.
An Upcoming Model: The new 2021 Outlander could have a hybrid option
Although the XPANDER CROSS is slated to expand to more countries in ASEAN, Mitsubishi has not yet announced if the versatile crossover will make its way to the U.S.
