Move Over Hellcat, and Make Room for the 800-HP Yenko 2017 Chevrolet Corvette

The Yenko 2017 Chevrolet Corvette cranks out 800 horsepower

In the car world, many people dream about owning a vehicle that packs as many horsepower as the Dodge Hellcat or maybe even another muscle car with even more power. If you’re one of those people, then the good news is Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) might be able to make your dreams come true. That’s because it recently unveiled a modified 2017 Corvette Grand Sport, which cranks out an astonishing 800 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque.

To take the Grand Sport’s LT1 engine from 460 horsepower all the way up to 800 ponies, SVE used a 2.9-liter twin-scroll supercharger, which can also be found on the factory version of the Corvette Z06. In addition, SVE made further modifications to the LT1 by incorporating new CNC ported and polished cylinder heads, forged aluminum pistons, and a forged steel crank shaft.

The Yenko 2017 Chevrolet Corvette made its public debut on January 12th at a media event held in front of Classic Industries, which is based out of Huntington Beach, California. Besides coming with major engine modifications, the Yenko 2017 Chevrolet Corvette features a plethora of Yenko badges that can be found in the cabin, on the brake calipers, and anywhere else they could find room on the vehicle.

SVE announced that it’s building only 50 of these modified Corvettes and they certainly won’t come cheap. The company is charging an extra $46,000 in addition to the Grand Sport’s starting MSRP of $65,450. If that price tag doesn’t scare you off, then you can move on to the next step of the buying process by choosing between an eight-speed automatic and seven-speed manual transmission. On top of that, consumers also get to choose between coupe and convertible body styles, just like you get to do when ordering the factory version straight from Chevrolet.

The only catch is the Yenko 2017 Chevrolet Corvette cannot be owned in California. That’s because it doesn’t meet the state’s tough emissions regulations.
