Hyundai unveiled its new Palisade SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show last night. With room for eight passengers, the three-row Palisade will be the automaker’s largest vehicle.

The new 2020 Hyundai Palisade clearly evokes design imagery worthy of Hyundai’s flagship SUV, with new levels of all-road, all-weather capability, technology, safety, roominess, and efficiency, all packaged in cutting-edge design,” said Mike O’Brien, Hyundai Motor America’s vice president of product, corporate, and digital planning. “This new Hyundai SUV is the ultimate family vehicle for practical, comfortable daily use and memory-making road trips whenever the appeal of the open road should beckon.”

The Palisade rides on an all-new chassis and can be had in both 2WD and HTRAC 4WD configurations. It carries a 3.8-liter V6 engine that makes 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The exterior features bold styling with a cascading grille, LED signature lighting, aerodynamic design elements, and a wide stance. Inside, the Palisade offers a One-Touch second-row seat, a power-folding third-row, and a power liftgate for easy and flexible access. The cabin feels spacious and comfortable, thanks to its large fixed-glass rear sunroof opening and an industry-first roof vent diffuser that allows for quieter, more focused airflow to the vehicle’s rear seats.

The Palisade offers a wide array of technological features. The 10.25-inch touch screen display includes navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and USB outlets for all three rows. A conversation mirror and a Driver Talk in-car intercom system allow the driver to easily see and communicate with second- and third-row passengers. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and available Head-Up Display keep important driving information front and center.

As a family-focused vehicle, the Palisade features all the latest active-safety technologies. It comes standard with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Safe Exit Assist, Lane Following Assist, High Beam Assist, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go. The Palisade is also equipped with seven standard airbags and is built with advanced high-strength steel for a more rigid and lightweight structure.
