Ram Unveils Special Edition Trucks at State Fair of Texas
In case you didn’t know, Texas kinda likes trucks. It makes sense, then, that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) decided to reveal two new special edition trucks at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas this week. The new Ram Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition and the Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver are designed to offer Ram truck drivers more choice than ever before.
“Along with increased capability, technology and efficiency, Ram is constantly looking for ways to create more comfort and refinement for our customers. The new Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition is another example of how we deliver the most luxurious pickups in the industry,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep & Ram Brands, FCA Global. “Additionally, the new Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver edition builds upon the original Texas-only pickup and demonstrates Ram’s commitment to America’s largest truck market.”
Ram Laramie Longhorn Southfork Edition
The first truck shown at the Texas State Fair was the Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition. This pickup enhances the popular Laramie Longhorn truck, which in itself was named the Luxury Pickup of Texas by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) at the 2016 Texas Truck Rodeo (yes, that’s a real thing). The Southfork Edition adds a walnut brown exterior, canyon brown and frost interior with ruby red accent stitching, and wood and metal accents throughout the cabin.
For infotainment, you’ll find a Uconnect 4C system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, navigation, 4G Wi-Fi, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility. The truck is also adorned with “Longhorn” badges inside and out on the tailgate, glove compartment, and floor mats.
The Ram Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition will be offered on Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models equipped with either 4×2 or 4×4 and Crew Cab. The package will cost $51,220 plus a $1,395 destination charge.
Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver Edition
The second model revealed at the Texas State Fair is the Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver edition. Available on Ram 2500 and 3500 models with Crew Cab, this special edition adds a newly designed grille with chrome surround, bright belt moldings, chrome side mirrors, 20-inch wheels, and front tow hooks. The Lone Star Silver edition will also come with an aluminum “Lone Star” badge, and it will be backed by the new Ram Care service program.
The Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver edition will carry an MSRP of $55,620 plus a $1,395 destination charge.
