Right Hand Drive Chevy Camaro SS in the Works for India?
Due to the government’s high import taxes, you rarely see American muscle cars on the streets of India. However, there have been rumors that Ford is looking to launch the Mustang in India, and now the latest report suggests that Chevrolet may have thrown its hat into the ring, as well.
Motoroids is claiming that a 2011 Chevy Camaro SS has been imported into India for Research & Development purposes. The vehicle is equipped with a 462 horsepower 6.2-liter V8, a six-speed manual transmission, and is Left Hand Drive, which is the wrong side for India.

Previously, a GM executive had stated that there wouldn’t be any Right Hand Drive Camaros, so if true, this news is kind of surprising. (Then again, Chevy also said it wouldn’t air a Super Bowl commercial last night, and look how that turned out).
It will be interesting to see which (if either) classic American muscle car immigrates to India first: the Mustang or the Camaro.
