Sierra Denali Magnetic Ride Control Is Segment First
The full-size truck segment just got a new dose of awesome: the 2015 GMC Sierra Denali magnetic ride control feature marks the first time that a truck in that segment has been offered with the electronically controlled damping system.
The point of the Sierra Denali magnetic ride control is to provide more precise body motion control for an improved ride. Payload and trailering capability are maintained. (Max payload is 1,940 pounds and max trailering capacity is 9,400 pounds.)
“With magnetic ride control, the 2015 Sierra Denali delivers a smoother, more confident driving experience without sacrificing the capabilities customers expect from a GMC truck,” said Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer. “The responsiveness of the system makes this full-size truck feel and drive like a luxury vehicle – and one that’s more comfortable on long trips, especially when trailering.”
Magnetic ride control’s sensors scan the road every millisecond and can then create damping changes in response within five milliseconds. The third-generation magnetic ride control will be standard on all 2015 Sierra Denali half-ton models.
