Tom Brady Gives 2015 Chevy Colorado to Butler
Although that headline may have made you assume that Tom Brady gifted a pickup truck to his most loyal manservant, “Butler” is actually the surname of newly-famous New England Patriot cornerback, Malcolm Butler. The undrafted rookie saved Super Bowl XLIX for the Patriots when he intercepted Seahawks QB Russell Wilson’s pass at the one-yard line, a play that has already been immortalized with the nickname “The Butler Did It.”
So when Tom Brady was given a free 2015 Chevy Colorado as part of his Super Bowl MVP awards ceremony, Butler turned to a camera and said, “The truck is mine.”
Well, apparently Brady agreed. ESPN is reporting that Tom Terrific will indeed give the Colorado to Butler, as a token of appreciation for the backup cornerback’s clutch interception.
“I’d love to [give Butler the truck],” Brady said on a Boston sports radio station. “We’re going to figure out how to make that happen.”
In addition to the free 2015 Chevy Colorado, Butler also got a free trip to Disneyland, and will likely get free drinks from everyone in the New England area for the rest of his life.
He probably should stay out of bars in the Pacific Northwest for a while, though. At least until things cool down…
