Toyota is readjusting the trim philosophy behind the C-HR for the 2019 model year, bringing the crossover more in line with competitors with regards to pricing.

The 2019 C-HR will be offered at three trim levels — LE, XLE, and Limited — with the XLE Premium trim now no longer available.

The new base LE starts at $20,995 (not including a $1,095 delivery, processing, and handling fee), making it $1,505 cheaper than the base 2018 model.

Though that means a few less features, the LE is nonetheless quite well equipped. It boasts 17-inch wheels, an Apple CarPlay-compatible infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen, and dynamic radar cruise control as part of the standard Toyota Safety Sense suite of active driver-assistive technologies.

The XLE, previously the base trim, now has more features, including auto-folding mirrors and push-button start. The interior gets piano black trim and a leather steering wheel as well.

The Limited is now the top-of-the-line C-HR, which boasts rain-sensing windshield wipers, partial or full leather upholstery, and fog lights. It even gets the Entune Audio Plus system that had previously been only offered as an option on the XLE Limited (though the Limited starts at $27,145, while the XLE Premium used to cost $25,310).

Exterior design is largely unchanged saved for a few details, and while the Radiant Green Mica color has been dropped, a new Blue Flame color is now available. The black or white contrasting roof remains as an option as well.

Toyota also updated the continuously variable automatic transmission to produce less cabin noise and improve acceleration, though fuel economy will remain the same at an estimated 27 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined.
