Chevrolet Accessories offers a trailering camera produced by Echomaster for 2014-2016 Silverados

Chevrolet’s new trailering camera system will be made available for 2014-2016 model year Silverados, the automaker announced today.

The innovative system with up to four cameras joins the new factory-installed, fifth-wheel prep package as the two newest additions to the Chevrolet Accessories portfolio. As with all Chevrolet Accessories, these two packages are both available through Chevy dealers and are warranted and integrated to work with the customer’s vehicle.

“These are great examples of our commitment to provide truck customers with the most confident towing experience in the industry,” said Chevrolet truck executive chief engineer Jeff Luke. “The fifth-wheel prep package has been designed by our structural engineers, to make the most of Silverado’s fully-boxed, high-strength steel frame. The trailering camera system was designed in partnership with our Chevrolet MyLink team to seamlessly integrate views from trailering cameras into the existing radio display.”

The new trailering camera system conquers blind spots through the use of two side view cameras and one camera mounted on the rear of the vehicle’s trailer. The product is a result of the partnership between Chevy and Echomaster, and is compatible will all 2014 through 2016 model year Silverado HD trucks and Silverado 1500 trucks with available trailer-towing mirrors. Prices start at $999, not including the cost of tax, labor, and installation.

The fifth-wheel package, meanwhile, features a frame-mounted hitch platform and tray concealed below the truck bed, and is available on all 2016 model Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD trucks for $350. Also available is a factory-installed 7-way trailer wiring connection in the pickup box.
