Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu new releases

Whether you love spotting and identifying vehicles on screen or you just want to watch a great chase scene, you’ll find plenty to enjoy on the major streaming services in November. From horror and action to comedy and documentaries, these newly streaming movies and TV shows put the focus right where you want it: on cars.

New for 2022: The Chevrolet Silverado is in line for some serious upgrades

Movies

Borat (2006)

Ranked on The News Wheel’s list of the 10 Goofiest Road Trip Movies Ever, this mockumentary shows no mercy whatsoever, brutally satirizing American culture via the outrageous antics of Sacha Baron Cohen’s character as he embarks on a cross-country trek in a converted postal van/ice cream truck. (Hulu, 11/1)

Children of Men (2006)

One of the century’s great sci-fi thrillers, this film vividly portrays a future plagued by mass infertility and societal collapse. It also boasts some great vehicular sequences, including a stunning long-take ambush and a creative chase scene with a car that won’t start. (Amazon, 11/1)

Dead Heat (1988)

This “buddy cop action zombie comedy” (description courtesy of Wikipedia) got dreadful reviews when it came out, but it might be a winner if you love ’80s cult cheese. Keep an eye out for the beautiful 1960 Chevrolet Impala convertible driven by the movie’s main detective duo. (HBO Max, 11/1)

It Follows (2014)

Cars play a small but integral role in this modern horror classic. A Plymouth Gran Fury from the ’70s, a Chevy Impala station wagon from the ’80s, and a Chevy Classic sedan from the ’00s give the movie’s eerily timeless Detroit setting plenty of extra resonance. (Netflix, 11/1)

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)

Driving safety tip: If you’re ever out joyriding on a Texas highway in your Mercedes (or any other vehicle, really), definitely don’t get drunk and play chicken with a blue Chevy C-10 truck owned by the cannibalistic Sawyer clan. (Hulu and Paramount Plus, 11/1)

The Transporter (2002) and Transporter 2 (2005)

Driver-for-hire Frank Martin (played by Jason Statham) doesn’t necessarily go looking for trouble. He’s the star of the action-packed Transporter franchise, though, so trouble inevitably finds him. At least he gets to drive a BMW (in The Transporter) and an Audi (in Transporter 2) when he’s not punching or shooting bad guys. (HBO Max, 11/1)

Television

Storm Rising: Season 1

This exciting National Geographic documentary series follows a team of storm chasers as they brave hurricanes and tornadoes in order to gather important data about record-breaking weather events. (Disney Plus, 11/3)

Wheeler Dealers: Season 1

In this British reality series, car enthusiasts Mike Brewer and Edd China travel the U.K. in search of aging vehicles that they can repair, upgrade, and resell for fun and profit. (Amazon, 11/1)
