Subaru-Presented National Parks Adventure to Premiere on Friday
Last year, Subaru announced that it would be partnering with Brand USA and more to put together a documentary marking the Centennial Anniversary of the National Park Service. That IMAX-sized documentary, titled National Parks Adventure, will premiere this Friday, February 12th, at more than 100 theaters across the United States. Additional support for the film came from Expedia and the Giant Dome Theater Consortium.
National Parks Adventure, directed by Greg MacGillivray (Everest, The Living Sea) takes viewers on a journey to more than 30 of the nation’s 400 national parks. Wildlife and the elements of nature are explored as the guides take viewers “over red rock canyons,” “down steep mountain peaks,” and more. The film focuses on the adventures of Conrad Anker (a mountaineer and national parks ambassador), Max Lowe (an adventure photographer), and Rachel Powe (an artist) as they navigate the different parks. Academy Award winner Robert Redford lends his talents as a narrator.
“National Parks Adventure captures the stunning beauty of our wild places and reminds us these landscapes are an essential part of the human spirit,” commented Redford.
As for Subaru’s involvement, the film will open with a short spot from the automaker, reminding viewers of the importance of our national parks—and how (and why we need) to protect them.
A special early debut of the film will be held at the Samuel C. Johnson IMAX Theater in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History on February 10th. In attendance will be government officials, Park Service execs, filmmakers, and Brand USA execs.
National Parks Adventure runs just 43 minutes and is family-friendly, so be sure to take your kids to this wonderful creation between now and the fall of this year.
