2015 Ford Sales Surpass 1 Million Vehicle Mark in China

Ford set a new record for sales in China this past year with a total of 1,115,124 vehicles delivered, a 3% improvement from the prior year’s sales total. Ford was able to achieve this impressive tally with December sales totaling 124,768 vehicles sold, a 24% year-over-year improvement.

“2015 was another strong year for Ford in China with growth in sales and our product portfolio,” said John Lawler, chairman and CEO of Ford Motor China. “Our record performance sets the stage for 2016, as we continue to expand our portfolio of high-quality, fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive vehicles that our customers want and need.”

Changan Ford Automobile set new records for both December and annual sales, up 49% and 7%, respectively. December sales reached 96,960 vehicles, bringing the year-end total to 836,425 vehicles delivered throughout the country.

Sales were led by the Mondeo, which was up 8% at 113,990 vehicles sold; SUV sales were up 13% as combined sales of the Ecosport, Kuga, Edge, Explorer, and Everest totaled 274,188 units; and EcoBoost sales surpassed 300,000 units annually for the first time with a 31% year-over-year sales increase.

Jiangling Motors Corporation sales totaled 253,359 vehicles, down 6% annually.
