What’s New for the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class?

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class of vehicles sees a few improvements from last year’s fleet. The CLS550 gains a nine-speed automatic transmission to help it move along. A new Night Package has been introduced to the series of vehicles. Interior technologies and amenities like a remote-start function and a USB port have also been equipped.

Performance is the hallmark of the 2016 CLS series of vehicles. Starting out, the CLS400 is able to achieve 329 horsepower. The CLS550 receives a better performance thanks to the new nine-speed automatic transmission. However, the AMG CLS63 S leads the way, with an incredible 577 horsepower.

Coupes are not always known for their efficiency. However, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLS series of vehicles manages to obtain a respectable fuel economy. The CLS550 can achieve a city mpg of 17 and a highway mpg of 26. It’s the CLS400 that performs the best in this department, with a 20/30 city/highway mpg.

Mercedes-Benz has added some of the best safety and security systems to its line of coupes in 2016. Radar technology alerts drivers of vehicles ahead with the Collision Prevention Assist Plus system.
