What’s New for the 2017 BMW X1

Drivers probably shouldn’t expect too many differences for the BMW X1, as the vehicle did just recently undergo a major redesign. However, they should note that the BMW X1 comes standard with FWD instead of AWD starting this year.

2017 BMW X1 Performance

As previously noted, the BMW X1 now comes standard with FWD. However, if BMW enthusiasts want to retain the classic feel of all-wheel drive, that system is available as well.

Under the hood, a 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline four-cylinder engine teams up with BMW’s Eight-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission. Together, they help the X1 produce 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
